How Long Should We Plan For Photographs ?
We always suggest a minimum of 1.5 hrs and ideally 2. This sounds a long time but it will fly. Two hours allows us sufficient time to provide you with the photographs that represent your wedding - the best day of your life - which will be the only real memory of your day. Most venues suggest one hour but this really isn't sufficient especially if you consider that 95% of weddings run late, groups will run late as nobody is where you want them to be, you want time with your guests so if you allow say 30 minutes for groups, 20 minutes for romantics and your running just 10 minutes late means you have no time with your guests.

Will The Service Be Photographed ?
If it is civil service, most registrars allows photography of the service so long as flash isn't used and we do not use flash. Churches vary - some have no photography, some have limited and some have no restrictions. Its very awakward for photographs at churches as some churches use several different vicars and they all have there own rules. We will always contact the church prior to the wedding but even then we have been given permission only to have a different vicar who says no. We think it’s a shame as this is one of the most important parts of the day and you sometimes have no record of it. We have photographed at most churches so if you are planning a church wedding let us know the church and we will advise you of our experiences. We would also suggest that you inform the vicar that you would like the service photographed - after all you are paying and its your wedding !

A Bridesmaid Is Wearing Braces And Is Worried About The Photographs ?
Do not worry ! - we can remove any braces so the bridesmaid can smile knowing that she will have a lovely pair of teeth !

What Happens If It Rains ?
Don't panic ! - Firstly, there is nothing anybody can do about the weather but don't let this spoil your day. We obtain a forecast from the Met Office 3 days before every wedding and then a more accurate forecast the day before so we are prepared. If the weather is forecast to be raining or cold we will have already made arrangemenst with the venue to undertake photography inside. In addition, we will carry studio lighting so we can, if needed, set up a studio at the venue. Most venue's are also prepared for adverse weather and we have experienced all kinds of weather and coped very well.

Who will photography my wedding ?
Your wedding will be photographed by Carl & Karen Thomas. Carl is a qualified photographer and also a qualified member of the Master Photographers Association and the British Institute of Professional Photographers. Karen assists Carl on the day and works with the bride and bridesmaids whilst getting ready before joining Carl later in the day. We also employ two other photographers, Ian & Annie - Ian is also a qualified photographers and assisted Carl in the early days of KCT Photography so he works in a very similar way to Carl. If Ian and Annie are to photograph you wedding we will inform you of this when you book.

How Will I View My Wedding Proofs ?
Within a week of your wedding we will have all your images ready for viewing. A selection will be uploaded onto a web album for you and your guests to have a look at. We will also print two proof books for you and provide a slidehsow DVD. These show you all of the photographs and these are ready within 14 days of your wedding.

How Do You Pay ?
You can pay by either cash, cheque, credit or debit card ? If you prefer, you can also pay for your albums after your wedding which helps spread the cost.

Who Selects The Photographs For My Album ?
You can either choose them all or we can - its up to you. Either way, you always see a proof of the proposed album before it is printed and you can make any changes necessary.

How Long Do I Have To Make My Album Selection ?
As long as you like ! - There is no pressure to choose your photographs but as many weddings are booked 2-3 years in advance and we hold prices we do ask that you select and order your album within six months of your wedding otherwise we may have to charge you the prevailing rate for the album.

How Long Will The Final Album Take To Deliver ?
Once you have approved the album, delivery is normally 3-4 weeks depending on the time of the year and what sort of album you have selected.

Portraits
How Long Does The Sitting Last For ?
We normally book the studio for 1 hour unless you opt for a bronze sitting which is 20 minutes.

What Sort Of Things Do You Do ?
When you first arrive, we will have a chat which helps with any nerves. We are very relaxed and aim to have fun whilst creating some fantastic photography. We will include a mix of formal and fun photographs and take into account ages and nerves. We tend to find that even the most nervous people tend to come out of themselves after a short while and everybody comments on how much fun they had and enjoyed it. The reactions when they view the photographs speak for themselves !

Can We Change Clothes ?
Yes - we encourage this and have changing facilities.

Can We Bring Our Childrens Toys ?
Certainly - we have a supply of toys for children but we actively encourage parents to bring their childrens favourite toys or teddies.

What If My Baby Is Asleep or Not In The Mood ?
Babies are very hard to predict and we understand this. We do a lot of baby photography and as the studio is booked for one hour there is plenty of time. If the baby is ill or not really up for being photographed we will suggest coming back at another time and more often than not we actually achive great results the 2nd time.

How Do We View The Photographs ?
7-10 days after the sitting we post the images on a web album and provide you with a password to view the photographs. Photographs can either be purchased via our website, by telephone/email or by a personal visit. We also offer viewings where we show all the images on a large screen and then help you select your favourite images and mount them into "electronic frames" so you can see what they will look like as actual sizes.

What Are Your Opening Hours ?
Our studio is generally open from 10 am until 9 pm with the last sitting at 8 pm. We are also open on selected weekends although in the summer weekends are very difficult as we are busy with weddings most weekends.

What If A Member Of Family Falls Ill On The Day ?
This is something that does happen and we appreciate that this may happen. If this does happen, it will be best to cancel and re-schedule rather than have somebody who is feeling under the weather as this may show in the photographs. We would rather you cancel than not show up so don't feel guilty even if you have to cancel five minutes before.
